As the founder, owner, and clinical director of A Bridge to Recovery, Kostas has been dedicated to helping individuals heal from trauma and addiction since establishing the facility in 2006. With a profound understanding of the underlying pain and unmanageability that fuel addiction, Kostas has built Bridge to Recovery as a sanctuary for those seeking genuine healing.

A proud graduate of the University of Mississippi, Kostas also holds a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM. Her extensive clinical expertise includes certifications as a Sex Addiction Therapist, Problematic Sexual Behavior Therapist and Supervisor, Sexual and Relational Trauma Therapist and Supervisor, and she is an EMDR Level II clinician. Over nearly two decades, Kostas has helped countless individuals from Mississippi and across the nation on their paths to recovery.

Recognized in 2010 as one of the top 10 Leading Business Women in Mississippi, Kostas blends her entrepreneurial spirit with a compassionate approach to clinical care. Raised in an entrepreneurial family, she grew up working in her parents’ well-known restaurant, Bill’s Greek Tavern.

A Mississippi native with a love for the outdoors, Kostas enjoys hunting, spending time in nature, and pursuing her passions for reading, art, and travel. She shares her life with her beloved dogs, who are as much a part of her journey as the clients she serves.

Dr. Jennifer Trihoulis

Dr. Trihoulis grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, where her passion for mental health took root early, inspired by her father, a psychiatrist. Spending countless hours in treatment settings alongside him, she witnessed firsthand the power of recovery and healing.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of New Orleans and went on to receive her Master’s in Public Health from Tulane University. Dr. Trihoulis completed medical school at the University of Mississippi, followed by a residency at the University Medical Center in Jackson. She is board certified by both the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Addiction Medicine.

Specializing in mood, trauma, and addictive disorders, Dr. Trihoulis is deeply committed to staying at the forefront of medical advancements, continually studying the latest research and technology in the field. When she’s not working with patients, she enjoys quality time with her three children, balancing her professional life with her role as a mother.

 

Judy Matheos at Bridge to Recovery

Judy Matheos

Born and raised in Mississippi, Judy Matheos was married to Bill Matheos, a proud immigrant from Thassos, Greece. Together, they have two daughters and owned a landmark restaurant in Jackson, Bill’s Greek Tavern.

Judy joined A Bridge to Recovery in November 2009, where she plays a vital role in the front office. For her, the most rewarding aspect of her job is witnessing the transformative journey of those who walk through the doors, from their first steps in recovery to their renewed sense of hope and healing.

Nakesia Ellis at Bridge to Recovery

Nakesia Ellis

Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, Nakesia’s passion for nursing began as early as middle school. Her interest in mental health was ignited in her late teens when a loved one was diagnosed with a mental disorder. Witnessing firsthand the challenges that families face when caring for someone with mental illness, she found her calling in the field of psychiatry.

Nakesia started her career in 2005 as a mental health technician while earning her Practical Nurse certificate from Hinds Community College. In 2010, she returned to Hinds to earn her Associate’s Degree in Nursing, transitioning from Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse. She later received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women in 2015 and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Saint Louis University in 2020.

Nakesia’s areas of expertise include addiction, psychotic disorders, and mood disorders. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her three children. Dedicated to providing compassionate and high-quality care, Nakesia is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of her clients.

Keith Hudson at Bridge to Recovery

Keith Hudson

PhD, LPC-S, BC-TMH

Keith firmly believes that everyone is capable of change—it just requires a decision and a commitment to the process. As a licensed clinician, he is deeply passionate about helping those in distress achieve healthy transformations in both their personal and relational lives. His primary goal is to foster positive thinking, even in the face of adversity.

Keith holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate in psychology. In addition to running his own counseling practice, he directs the undergraduate psychology program at Jackson State University and leads group and individual therapy sessions at A Bridge to Recovery.

Outside of his professional roles, Keith enjoys spending quality time with his family and is an avid tennis player.

Renee Wilkinson at Bridge to Recovery

Renee Wilkinson

Office Manager

Born and raised in Mississippi, Renee grew up in a military family, which has given her a deep appreciation for the men and women who serve our country. She holds a degree in digital photography and graphic design and is the proud mother of three wonderful daughters who hold a special place in her heart.

For the past 20 years, Renee has been an avid league bowler. When she’s not spending time with her children or on the bowling lanes, you can find her in the kitchen, where she loves to cook with passion and care.

Laura Rutledge

Laura was born and raised in Mississippi. She remembers her childhood curiosity toward anyone she met and has it in her practice today.

Laura earned her Bachelor’s from Ole Miss and knew she wanted focused training to become a therapist. She received her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary in 2018. Currently, Laura is working on her certification to complete her CSAT (certified sex addiction counselor) as well as EMDR.

As a counselor at Bridge to Recovery, Laura brings fresh insight and a passion for guiding others. Throughout the day, you may find her listening to good music from any decade.

Bernard Matherne at Bridge to Recovery

Bernard Matherne

LPC, NCC, ICADC-II, CTT, BC-TMH

Bernard was born and raised in the suburbs of New Orleans, Louisiana. He has been a resident of Rankin County since 1987. He married his wonderful wife, Gayle, in 1992. Together they have three children and three beloved grandchildren. During his free time, he enjoys fishing, watching sports, and spending time with family.

Bernard has devoted his adult life to serving those suffering from addictive illness. His passion was born from his addiction recovery journey, which began in 1983. Bernard has worked in a variety of settings, counseling individuals with diverse backgrounds. He has held positions of Addiction Counselor, Clinical Director, Chief Clinical Officer, and Executive Director of residential and outpatient levels of care. Currently, Bernard is a therapist at A Bridge to Recovery, counseling adults with chemical addictions, process addictions, mood disorders, and unresolved trauma.

Bernard obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Belhaven University and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Louisiana – Monroe. Bernard currently holds a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (P-LPC) licensure. He is an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC-II), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified Trauma Therapist (CTT), and Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH.) In addition, he is past president of The Mississippi Association of Addiction Professionals. Bernard is a 2-time recipient of the Catherine Turcotte Addiction Professional of the Year award.

Bernard has worked extensively with individuals who have struggled with Relapse. He obtained an Advanced Certification in Relapse Prevention Therapy from the CENAPS corporation in the mid-1990s and has assisted many individuals in increasing their recovery resilience and minimizing relapse risks.

John Conway at Bridge to Recovery

John Conway

A native of Jackson, Mississippi, John Conway has been active in the recovery community for over 22 years, and his experience with substance abuse and addiction issues keeps him passionate about helping people learn ways to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.

John received his undergraduate degree in Communication from Mississippi State University, holds a Master of Science in Community Counseling from Jackson State University, and is completing an Education Specialist degree in Mental Health Counseling from Mississippi College.

In his spare time, John likes to travel and go on adventures with his wife, run half-marathons with his daughter and friends, go camping, and spend time outdoors.

Katie Lambright is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Social Work from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. Katie also holds a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of Southern Mississippi.

Katie has ten years of experience working in mental health. She is passionate about working with people who are struggling with problematic compulsive behaviors and substance use disorders that desire to learn healthier ways of coping with the painful experiences that lead to problematic behaviors.

Katie also enjoys working with families and couples who are impacted by addiction and provides a supportive environment that can promote healing. Katie is also skilled in treating trauma using EMDR therapy.

Carla Snopek is a registered dietitian nutritionist with a degree in nutrition and dietetics from the University of Mississippi. She then went on to complete an internship and additional master’s level coursework through the University of Southern Mississippi. Carla has worked with many individuals over the years, addressing a variety of physical and mental health conditions. She realizes the importance of nutrition and lifestyle in addiction recovery and uses a holistic and sustainable approach to create personalized plans to help individuals recover from eating disorders and substance use disorders. Carla enjoys supporting clients on their journey to improved health and vitality.

Brittney Quick

Britney was born and raised in Florence, Mississippi, where her close-knit family resides. With a strong appreciation for her Southern roots, she enjoys spending her time with family, caring for animals, and exploring her interests in ATVs, motorcycles, and cars. Britney holds a cosmetology license and brings valuable experience as a former healthcare store manager at CVS, where she developed a keen understanding of clients’ needs and honed her communication skills.

Outside of her professional life, Britney is a dedicated mother to her young child and is a pet owner, sharing her home with a dog and a turtle. She is also an active member of Springhill Baptist Church, where she enjoys worship and singing in the choir.

Denise Marsters is the Executive Director and the Founder of The McCoy House Extended Care for Women.

She is a certified alcohol and drug counselor and a certified sexual addiction therapist and has worked in the field of addiction and mental disorders for over 27 years. She is trained in equine
therapy, experiential therapy, and relapse prevention.

Denise has worked in inpatient and outpatient treatment settings over the years and facilitates retreats and intensive workshops nationwide.

Katelyn Glenn

LPC, NCC

Katelyn grew up in Madison, Mississippi, with a desire to support friends and loved ones through difficult times, a passion that began in middle school and ultimately shaped her path toward the mental health field. Her focus on addiction counseling was ignited by her own experience of walking through the recovery process with a family member.

In 2016, Katelyn earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Millsaps College, followed by a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2020. She has since gained valuable experience working in substance use inpatient and outpatient settings in both Massachusetts and Mississippi. A Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Katelyn is also pursuing certification in EMDR therapy.

Katelyn is passionate about helping individuals struggling with substance use disorders and compulsive behaviors, empowering them to build self-worth, develop adaptive coping skills, and form healthy connections.

In her spare time, Katelyn enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends, working out at CrossFit, watching football and baseball games, and experimenting with new dinner recipes.

Stacey Overstreet

P-LPC

Stacey was born and raised in Mississippi. She lived in Chicago for eight years after college before she returned home to raise her two daughters. She started her career as a speech and theatre teacher. She taught in Madison, Mississippi, Evanston, Illinois, and Jackson, Mississippi. She was the Director of Speech and Theatre at Jackson Academy for eight years. Her favorite part of teaching was the connection that she had with the students. Being able to walk alongside the students as they worked through issues was the best part of teaching.

Her journey in recovery began in 2015. It was at this time that Stacey realized that it was time for a career change.  She worked as a Certified Peer Support Specialist at Region 8 Mental Health Services and then moved to the Rankin County Youth Court where she was a case manager.  In 2021, she became the Operations Coordinator for Family and Juvenile Drug Courts.  She helped RCYC receive several federal grants that helped provide treatment and services for those struggling with substance use disorders.  She went back to school at Mississippi College and earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling.  She is a P-LPC and is currently trained in phase 1 and 2 in Brainspotting.  She also teaches at the Mississippi Law Enforcement Academy.  Stacey is passionate about helping individuals move from active addiction to recovery one day at a time. When not working, she can be found binging a crime series on BBC, at a theatre catching a play, and adding to her sneaker collection. Her favorite past time is being a Mom to her two amazing adult daughters.
